Gatling GunSystemsEnd-to-End

High Ground Defense designs and manufactures Gatling gun systems and rotary machine guns for military, government, and OEM customers from its Scottsdale, Arizona headquarters. Engineering, precision CNC machining, assembly, inspection, and live-fire acceptance testing are performed under a controlled quality management system, providing configuration control from design through final delivery.

Precision CNC Machining

Every High Ground Defense weapon system is manufactured using 5-axis and 4-axis CNC machining centers and dual-spindle live-tool CNC lathes, providing precise control over every critical component. The majority of critical weapon components are machined in-house, giving HGD direct control over quality, configuration management, production scheduling, and continuous product improvement.

Keeping precision machining in-house is fundamental to the manufacturing philosophy: engineering and manufacturing teams work side by side, allowing design improvements to move quickly from CAD to production while maintaining strict dimensional control and material traceability from raw material through final serialized component. This integrated approach reduces manufacturing lead times and ensures every component meets the standards required for mission-critical military weapon systems.

Advanced Surface Engineering

High Ground Defense utilizes advanced surface treatments selected according to component function, operating environment, and mission requirements. These include ArmorLube(R), a Diamond-Like Carbon surface treatment produced using Hollow Cathode Technology, and ceramic coatings used where additional corrosion and environmental protection are required.

ArmorLube provides a low-friction, wear-resistant surface on components where lubricity and durability directly affect weapon performance. Ceramic coatings support corrosion resistance in maritime and other demanding operating environments. Surface treatments are performed through qualified, owner-affiliated and specialized coating providers operating within High Ground Defense's controlled supply chain, ensuring process control, configuration management, and traceability.

Testing and Quality Assurance

High Ground Defense maintains an ISO 9001:2015 certified Quality Management System, ensuring disciplined processes throughout engineering, manufacturing, inspection, testing, and continuous improvement. Every manufactured component is supported by a Certificate of Conformance (CoC), providing material traceability and configuration control.

Quality is built into every stage of production: critical components, including barrels and bolts, undergo Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) against established acceptance criteria; electronic systems are qualified to applicable MIL-STD-810G/H environmental requirements; and every completed weapon system undergoes live-fire acceptance testing prior to delivery.

Prototyping,Research,&Development

High Ground Defense combines digital design, in-house additive manufacturing, precision CNC machining, and live-fire testing to rapidly develop, evaluate, and refine new weapon system designs. Integrated engineering and manufacturing capabilities enable design concepts to move quickly from digital models to functional prototypes and live-fire evaluation, allowing engineering changes to be evaluated in days rather than months.

The same capabilities support customer-specific integration projects: platform requirements, mounting solutions, and mission-specific modifications are designed, manufactured, tested, and validated on program timelines, with strict configuration control throughout the product lifecycle.

Training AndField Support

High Ground Defense provides operator and maintenance training to support fielding and long-term sustainment of every weapon system.

Standard training programs include a three-day operator course and a five-day maintenance course, covering safe operation, system familiarization, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair procedures. Training can be tailored to customer requirements, platform configurations, and mission profiles.

Beyond initial instruction, High Ground Defense provides ongoing technical support, spare parts, engineering assistance, and product sustainment throughout the service life of the weapon system.

Training scope is defined per program. Include it in your procurement inquiry.
